More Than Jigsaws

Jigsaws are one of the most valuable educational toy. They assist with children's fine motor skills, matching shapes, colours, spatial awareness, problem solving and memory.

Our tub of jigsaws are pulled out at least once a week and boy do we have fun. Some pieces tend to fall out in the tub (when it is packed away upside down), so just matching the pieces to the correct jigsaw is an activity in itself.

We love to pull out the alphabet letters, put them into their correct order on the floor, create names and trace around them.

Or just have fun tracing around shapes or make them into stories. Now who would have thought that wooden jigsaws could be so fun?
